Is it possible to love the Miami Dolphins too much?

A good Miami criminal attorney can’t prevent dumb crimes, but we can prevent dumb appearances in court. While we don’t know the details of his case, a person in the state of Florida could face a number of charges for this kind of crime, depending on the details of their case:

  • Robbery by sudden snatching: When an individual takes an item directly from another person in a manner where the other person is not touched, it is considered robbery by sudden snatching. For example, if a person runs by a woman and quickly grabs a woman’s purse without striking her, a robbery by sudden snatching has occurred. This crime is a 3rd degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $5.000 fine. However, if a person is a habitual offender the prison time may be enhanced.
  • Strongarm robbery: When an individual uses force in order to commit a theft directly upon another person, it is called Strongarm Robbery. For example, if a person walks up to a woman and strikes her, then steals her purse, they have then committed a strongarm robbery. This crime is a 2nd degree felony, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. However, if a person is a habitual offender the prison time may be enhanced.
  • Retail theft: If the item was taken from a store, and concealed with an attempt to leave without paying, a person in Florida can face shoplifting charges called retail theft ranging from moderate to severe.
If you are charged with theft, robbery, or another crime in the state of Florida, you should seek legal counsel as early as possible to avoid maximum penalties.
