Criminal Defense FAQ #1 by FL Law Firm Gilbert & Smallman

Can I seal or expunge my criminal record in Florida?
Sure, as long as you have never been previously convicted of any crime.  If your Case resolved with a dismissal, or a not-guilty verdict at trial, you are eligible to have your record expunged, regardless of the severity of the offense.  If your case resolved with no conviction, or a withhold of adjudication, you may be eligible to have your record sealed.  Once your record is sealed or expunged, you can legally deny that you were arrested for the sealed or expunged charges.  This will help answer that dreaded question on job applications, “Have you ever been arrested?”   Contact us today to have one of our trained lawyers assist you with this process
