What Are the Drug Laws on Simple Possession, Trafficking, Importation?

Follow Gilbert and Smallman as they continue to discuss a case where a client was attempting to bring illegal aliens into the country. In this installment, Harris Gilbert informs us that the client was also found with 40 pounds of marijuana. Gilbert then breaks down the different forms of possession ie. trafficking, possession, importation, and so on.

Gilbert talks about the Federal sentencing guidelines, and how they can change depending on special enhancements – which can increase it from 2 – 14 levels. In negotiations, Gilbert was able to get certain enhancements dismissed or reduced.

When analyzing a Federal criminal case as opposed to a state case, there are many different laws and rules. The Federal code is much denser and more difficult to understand than the state. If you are involved in that kind of case, it’s important to have someone who is familiar with the Federal code, levels, and enhancements and can find creative ways around them.

Call today if you have been arrested, investigated, or even think you might be under suspicion for any Federal or drug related offense in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood or any part of South Florida.  You can reach either Harris Gilbert or Andrew Smallman on their cellphone 24/7 to discuss your situation.
