The infamous sibling criminals dubbed the “Dougherty Gang”, facing charges in the attempted murder of a Florida police officer, pled guilty on October 1 to bank robbery and firearms charges in the state of Georgia. The three Dougherty siblings were already convicted for crimes related to their bank robbery spree in the state of Colorado. Two of them pled guilty to the Georgia charges this week, and they face additional charges in Florida, including attempted murder of a police officer.
Sentences in Florida will hinge on the case for attempted murder of a police officer.
In Colorado, Lee Grace Dougherty denied shooting at police as police report alleged, but admitted that she pointed a machine pistol at Walsenburg police chief Chamberlain before being shot in the leg and apprehended by police. She was convicted of first-degree assault and two counts of menacing in Colorado. Florida stated this week they will bring charges including attempted murder of a police officer. Sentences for all convictions will be served in Colorado where the trio is currently incarcerated.
