Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Smallman take a team approach to working on your matter. After working together side by side at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office from 2004 – 2006 they have joined in the firm of Gilbert & Smallman in order to focus on providing the best possible representation. Focusing on quality as opposed to quantity they will take the necessary time and use their legal acumen in order to represent your needs. They have tried numerous Jury Trials sitting at the same table as co-counsel, and will do the same if your case calls for Jury Trial.

At the Office of the Public Defender they developed a large base of knowledge in the area of criminal law in addition to learning to work alongside every type of client.
